Merete Mueller, Booking Coordinator
As Booking & Outreach Coordinator, Merete assists guests in finding the perfect trip, with the registration process and coordinating their travel plans. While Peggy is out of the country, she also manages Facebook, Twitter, the PMCA blog and the PMCA monthly newsletter, making sure that clients past and future are up to date with PMCA’s latest offerings and Peggy’s culinary discoveries across the globe.
In addition to her work with PMCA, Merete is a writer, editor and project manager extraordinaire. She lives in Boulder, Colorado, and blogs at meretemueller.com.
Bernardo Conticelli, Wine Expert
Bernardo received his Diplome Internationale de l'OIV in the International Organization of Vine and Wine in Paris. He has further training in sensory analysis at the Université du Vin in Suze la Rousse and in wine marketing at the Université Montpellier SupAgro and at University of California. In May 2010, Bernardo won the 2010 International Student Grant sponsored by the Great Wine Capitals Global Network with a research project on "The Impact of the Internet on the Wine Sector: New Strategies for Wine Marketing in the Province of Florence." Since September 2008, he has collaborated with the Italian magazine Terre del Vino and has worked with Peggy Markel's Culinary Adventures, providing wine tasting courses and introductions to the geography of Italian wine production.
Laine Boswell, Wine Expert
A Seattle native, Laine studied at the O.I.V. (Organisation Internationale du Vin et de la Vigne) Master’s program in Wine Science and Management at the University of Paris X. Soon after, she chose an internship in Tuscany, where she immediately fell in love with the countryside, the people and their way of life, and met Peggy Markel. Fluent in French, Laine often assists Peggy in France and Morocco, sharing her wealth of knowledge of fine wine and Mediterranean food culture.
Lizzy Butler, Intern
From working on an organic fruit orchard in western Colorado to developing recipes in America’s Test Kitchen for Cook’s Illustrated Magazine, Lizzy has gotten her hands into every part of the cooking process, from the ground to the plate. A culinarian with a degree in Spanish and Linguistic Anthropology from the University of Vermont, Lizzy’s two life passions are food and language. Now settled in Boulder, Colorado, Lizzy adds her knowledge of food, cooking and culture to PMCA, as well as to the management of PMCA's blog and social media platforms.
